Appointments
* IF YOU HAVE A MEDICAL EMERGENCY, PLEASE INFORM THE RECEPTIONIST AS SOON AS POSSIBLE *
* Due to restrictions on time, each appointment should be used to discuss one or two items only.
* Children under 16 years should always be accompanied by an adult.
* Evening telephone appointments are available between 17.30 - 18:30 on various evenings each week for those who work or cannot attend during the day. These must be pre-booked in advance.
How to book an appointment:
If you have a health matter that you wish to discuss, please phone Reception and a staff member will ask you for your details and a short description of your problem.
Please be assured our Reception staff are compelled to follow the same rules of confidentiality as a GP or Nurse.
For certain conditions, you may be directed to a more appropriate service. Some examples are:
- Pharmacy First and Pharmacy First Plus are the local community Pharmacies who are able to manage many health conditions
- LENS are local Opticians who can deal with eye problems
- NHS Inform is Scotland's NHS website - Health information that anyone living in or visiting Scotland can trust
Urgent advice: Urgent Appointment
For urgent emergency medical matters for today (Monday to Friday):
- phone us on 01236 737 214, Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm
- visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist, Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm
When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.
Please give our Reception staff as much detail as possible as this will help the Urgent Care Team to prioritise who we phone back first.
We will use the information you give us to choose the most suitable clinical member of the Urgent Care Team to help you.

Routine Appointment
To request a routine (non-emergency) appointment in the next 7 days:
- phone us on 01236 737 214, Monday to Friday from 11am to 6pm
- visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist, Monday to Friday from 11am to 6pm
When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.
We will use the information you give us to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or health professional to help you.
You can choose whether to have a telephone consultation or a face-to-face appointment.
Your appointment
However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:
- by phone
- face to face at the surgery
- on a video call (this is not always available)
Appointments by phone can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner.
Cancelling or changing an appointment
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
To cancel your appointment:
- phone us on 01236 737 214, Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm
Our Practice Policy states that failure to attend an appointment (face-to-face or phone) on three occasions without proper notification will result in removal from our list.
Urgent advice: If you need help when we are closed
If you need medical help now, Call 111.
** Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency **
This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.
Chest pains and/or shortness of breath constitute an emergency
Home Visits
If you require a home visit, please try to phone the Practice on 01236 737 214 before 10:30am
You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. We will phone you first to understand what you need. A home visit will only be made if the clinician thinks that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed.
